Cumin seeds, also referred to by its Indian name, Jeera, is a classic addition to curries, Mexican, and Moroccan cuisine, among other cuisines. Either whole or powdered, it is a necessary component of many spice blends (like garam masala). It is quite tasty to sprinkle whole cumin seeds over veggies and then roast them in the oven. Try it in lentil soups, with squash, or with carrots. Use it, in fact, anytime you want to give your meal a hint of the unique! Additionally, cumin and coriander combine quite nicely.
